Our Client is a specialty electronics design and integration company focusing on high end residential projects. In particular they specialize in the design, installation and maintenance of distributed audio and video systems, media rooms, lighting, shading and environmental controls as well as data, phone and video services infrastructure.
The role of a Service Technician is to be natural problem solver who enjoys using their deep experience and broad skills in the AV Industry to quickly get clients back up and running on the technical Systems our Client has implemented. They will determine warranty status, implement new equipment as required based upon findings during visit, offer upgrade paths for older systems and be the face of the company to represent the Client’s brand name.
Quickly and efficiently diagnose faults and make repairs to the Clients Technology System.
Communicate with Service Coordinator regarding appointments for the day and week.
Complete daily paperwork including work orders, inventory used documentation, inventory return to warehouse documentation.
Monitor inventory kept in work vehicle and re-stock materials as needed.
Complete assigned tasks completely and efficiently while maintaining quality assurance standards are met. Verify all work before leaving site.
Interpret warranty status if in question based on findings of malfunction. Ensure that “in warranty” service is not overused.
Look for possible upgrades or up sell opportunities and present to client or pass along to Sales Design to keep the client current with technology.
Complete “leave behind” form to inform a client who is not home about what was completed and what is still outstanding. Communicate these details to the Service Coordinator.
Contact Service Coordinator as soon as return visit is required to pre-schedule next visit before
Communicate with Service Coordinator if appointment is running over allotted time to accommodate future appointments.
Plan, schedule, and coordinate multiple daily service calls in coordination with Service Coordinator.
5+ years as an Install Technician in custom high-end residential Audio Video Systems.
Proficient in Crestron, Savant, Lighting Systems (Lutron/Crestron/Vantage), Shades, Climate Control, Security, CCTV, Telephone and IT Networks.
Proficient in Setup, Configuration, Calibration and commissioning of equipment on multiple platforms.
Proficient in Cameras Security, Access Control, Credential Documentation
Some programming knowledge basics for Crestron, Savant, Lighting and Access Control.
Proficient in understanding of signal flow and blueprints.
Proficient in digital video distribution systems.
Proficient in distributed audio systems.
Proficient in sub system integrations.
Proficient and able to communicate with equipment manufacturers.
Ability to obtain resources and read manuals to solve problematic situations
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
